Private Garden in Saint-Cloud
Pool and Garden with Terrace
Located on the hill of Saint-Cloud, this resolutely contemporary residence, flanked by a custom-built swimming pool, overlooks the urban landscape of Paris. Like an extension of the house, the terrace dialogues with the interior space through its shape and the materials used: a minimalist outdoor living room extends the intimate space of the indoor living room. The bay windows give onto both the city and a surprisingly multi-faceted garden, depending on the direction in which one looks.
The garden is structured according to the amount of sunshine the land receives. Where the soil is humid and sometimes shady, exotic vegetation has naturally found its place. Plants with large leaves give the garden a wild look, as does the play on the varied heights of trees and shrubs. Where the sun is more present, xerophilous plants are found. A mixture of textures and shapes create strong contrasts that give character to the whole. This is also the desired effect thanks to the cameo of green, light colors of yuccas rostrata, nolinas, eucalyptus, senecios ... contrasting with deeper greens. The fountain next to the pool, a real refuge for insects and birds, is surrounded by a more rustic vegetation evoking natural wetlands.
Reflecting the uniqueness of this architect's house, the garden includes several rare trees and perennials.
And you? How do you imagine your garden?
