Exotic Garden on the Island of Oleron
Garden on the Dunes
This Mediterranean garden backs onto the dunes of the island of Oleron. The garden repeats the use of textured palms, yuccas and phormiums mixed with abundantly flowering perennials. The selected plants are adapted to the sandy soil, strong winds and salt spray. As the seasons change, the plants take turns to take center stage: the bright colors of the flowers slowly fade away, followed in winter by the green monochrome of the grasses, which then become the focus of the garden because of their variety of textures and the movements generated by the wind. The lush and dense vegetation evokes an exotic landscape that looks like a tropical paradise. Wild but tamed, this garden is an immersion in a vegetation where nature is staged.
And you? How do you imagine your garden?
