A Place Sculpted by and with Nature

The guiding idea of the landscape concept imagined for the Letovo kids and Letovo junior schools is the symbiosis between architecture and nature, with the aim of promoting the physical and mental health of children and adolescents.

Starting from a vast sloping site, the architectural project is built from the notion of "fluid". It is an organic gesture that recalls the path of a nourishing stream flowing down from the mountain to the plain and winding through the landscape. With the youngest children at the top, the school meanders and grows, like a stream, inspired by the vernacular landscape, that becomes a river. The entire project is a place of learning, inside and out. The place supports the learning system, beyond the confines of the classroom. It is also a vehicle for raising awareness of respect for the environment.
