Inhabiting the Already There: The Lands of Promise by Simonson Landscape
The “Living the Already There” or habiter le déjà là exhibition is a unique celebration of innovation in landscape architecture, orchestrated by POCO Architecture and Engineering, in collaboration with leaders in the construction field. We are proud to present our garden project in this exhibition, "The Lands of Promise" by David Simonson of Simonson Landscape.
This public garden and american war memorial in France, created with the support of the creative label “Art & Jardins Hauts-de-France”, represents a revolutionary vision of landscaping. Designed in partnership with Coralie Taupin, this garden is a hymn to biodiversity and ecology, redefining our relationship with the lawn and thier use in “green spaces”.
At the heart of this project lies a bold idea: rethinking the traditional lawn. “Les Terres de Promesses” abandons classic turf in favor of more sustainable and ecological alternatives. This avant-garde garden explores the use of plants that do not require mowing, which can be walked on, thus promoting a rich and diverse ecosystem.
The species chosen for this garden illustrate the richness of the solutions “already there” offered by nature. Transforming traditional lawns into a carpet of wildflowers such as daisies, ajugas, and yarrow, this garden invites contemplation and reflection on the way we inhabit and adorn our landscapes.
In this exhibition, we offer a glimpse behind the curtain of the creation of “The Lands of Promise”. Discover the preliminary construction studies, the images of the construction and a range of materials used in the composition of the garden. This is a rare opportunity to understand the meticulous process of creating a bespoke garden.
Experience our journey through the quarries, where each stone has been carefully selected and cut to fit harmoniously into the landscape. Follow the steps of building the garden, where each element has been designed to create a sustainable and aesthetic ecosystem.
For Parisian clients looking for innovation and originality in the design of their gardens, “Les Terres de Promesses” offers a new perspective. This project is a call to rethink our gardens, not only as aesthetic spaces, but as places of biodiversity, sustainability and harmony with nature.
We invite all lovers of landscape architecture, art, architecture, ecological innovation and natural beauty to discover this exceptional project, a perfect example of how we can inhabit "the already there" in harmony with our environment.
