An Office Garden in Bordeaux
A Landscape of Refuge for Biodiversity
Located in the heart of the site, the garden is an island of freshness for the office users. This eco-responsible garden is composed of several ecotones, i.e. transition zones between two ecosystems, very rich in biodiversity.
The garden recovers water from the roof, which is then stored in the storm basin. A wetland environment is conducive to aquatic plants and the associated fauna. Biotopes adapted to frogs and dragonflies are designed to accommodate local fauna. Protected areas ensure their reproduction and the nesting of birds and bats. Around the building, ecological corridors encourage the free movement of insects and reptiles between different parts of the site. The open hedges composed of native plants promote the pollination of the garden. A patio visible from the entrance, where seats invite office users to take a break, evokes the atmosphere of the undergrowth.
